Dear Family of Jim,
I am very sorry to learn of Jim's death. I remember him well from his days as a Gaston County Rural Police Officer, as a Kings Mountain Police Officer, and as a person I always enjoyed "catching up with" when we saw each other. My sincere sympathy goes out to all of you.

Jim... You came into my life as my step Dad when I was just a young boy and I soon learned to love you as a father. I thought the world of you.I grew up and many years passed and alot of water went under the bridge but I always knew you were never far away though we didn't always keep in touch. I never stopped loving you though it wasn't always shown. You were a person that always stood out in a crowd because that was just you. Now I can't believe that your not in a arms reach anymore because heaven is far away. I will always love you. Travis Watterson

It was a privilege to get to know Mr. Belt and how welcoming he was to our family. So generous was his spirit in always watching out for his neighbors. He will be missed.

May the promise found at Isaiah 25:8 bring some comfort in the death of Jim Belt. "He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces." Just imagine no more pain and grief due to the death of a love one!

Jim was a tremendous friend to me beginning with our time at Gaston County Police and following. His smile and warm greeting stayed with him till the very end as he shared he was ready to meet and talk to Jesus. He has left a legacy for family and friends. May each family member receive comfort and peace now.
