JERRY L. ADAMS

- Jerry Lawrence Adams, age 73, a resident of Kings Mountain, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at CaroMont Health Care. He was born in Washington, DC, son of the late Lawrence M. and Peggy Stone Adams and was also preceded by Sister Wanda Adams Raby, Brother-in Laws David Kincaid, Robert Kincaid and Robert Beason, Sister-in-Laws Iva Jean Beason and Sarah Bush, Father and Mother-in-law Arnold and Janie Dodd Kincaid. Jerry was a loving, faithful and precious husband to his wife, and a proud, supportive and loving Daddy to his children and granddad to his grandchildren; a wonderful leader for his family that put God first. He loved doing things for his family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing and doing woodwork and also enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Jerry was a hard worker and found joy in serving others. A faithful member of First Baptist Church, a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, Western Carolina University and received a master's degree from Gardner-Webb in Administration. He retired from Gaston County Public Schools after 36 years of service. Jerry touched the lives of countless students during his 36 years as a teacher, coach and principal. In 2002 Jerry was inducted into the Kings Mountain Sports Hall of Fame.

SURVIVORS: Married to the love of his life of 50 years, Edith Jane Kincaid Adams Daughters: Teresa Adams Brewer, Belmont, NC Patty Adams Franks, Kings Mountain, NC Brother: David Adams and wife Debbie, N. Myrtle Beach, SC Grandchildren: Zachary and Hannah Brewer Collin and Madison Franks Brother-in-Laws: Bobby Bush, Caroleen, NC Sister-in-Law: Franda Kincaid, Simpsonville, SC Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends

FUNERAL SERVICE: First Baptist Church, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. Dr. John Sloan, officiating.

VISITATION: 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the Stained Glass Room and at other times at the home.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church "Building Fund" 605 West King Street, Kings Mountain, NC 28086 or to Kings Mountain High School Football, 500 Phifer Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086
