Martha Sue used to be my Sunday school teacher many, many years ago. Her Christian example had an everlasting impact on my life...in ways I am sure she never even realized! The Ray Boltz song "Thank You for Giving to the Lord" comes to mind when I think of our sweet Martha Sue! I will forever be grateful for her willingness to serve our Lord and showing his kindness and unconditional love to others! I am sad for her family for their loss, but I know Martha Sue is singing and rejoicing with her Lord in heaven right now!

Like a lot of others in our family, I grew up thinking of Sue like she was "one of my moms" (as I used to put it). I last saw her in May, and she still treated me like I was one of her youngins. My heart aches for her kids and grandkids, and I have them in my thoughts and heart. Sue was one of a kind, and without her the world is lessened. I will always my Aunt Sue.

I am so very sorry to hear this. I loved Martha Sue. Each time I saw her, she had a smile and kind word. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dearest Joey, Sarah, & Family,
Words can never express what your Mother was to my heart. Of course I knew her because I have attended Second Baptist Church all of my life, and that is where I first met your Mother. From the second that I first met her and for all eternity she is precious to my heart. She always had the biggest smile and the most warm hug for me whenever and wherever she saw me. She always told me that she loved me, and I knew that she really did, because I could see it in her eyes and feel it in my soul when she spoke to me. She always encouraged me in so many ways over the years of my life. She and Peggy will always be my second Mothers. I know that she was the perfect Mother to you all. She was also the perfect sister, grandmother and friend. And above all she was the most wonderful Christian that I know. I pray that God will comfort you all during this brief time that we are all without her. But what a blessing you all have knowing where your Mother is right now! Heaven has surely received a precious saint in receiving Martha Sue Chaney Rhea. I Love You All! I Love You Martha Sue, and greatly look forward to our reunion in heaven with You & Peggy! Rest well with Jesus and know that we will all be carrying you in our hearts everyday till we meet again!
Sweetest Hugs & Love from My Heart,
Sonya McAbee Gregory

Martha Sue was a sweet friend of mine. I used to love singing with her at Second Baptist in a quartet. Heaven just got a little sweeter
