Floyd "Sam" Odell Caveny
Sam Caveny, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 10, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late James Harlin Caveny and Leila Belle Bolin Caveny and was preceded in death by brothers, James E. and Howard Caveny, and a sister, Pauline Lovelace. Sam was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and the Sunday School Director. He is a current member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. Sam was a member of the Fairview Masonic Lodge #339, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. Sam was always active, serving as a former Hospice volunteer and helping those in need. He enjoyed working in his yard and was an accomplished wood carver. Sam enjoyed working on things and could fix anything. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Sam will be missed dearly by his friends and loved ones.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 60 years, Frances Ruppe Caveny, of the home
 Sons: Dale Caveny and wife Amy, Sparta, NC and Dennis Caveny and wife Danielle, Nashville, TN
Grandchildren: Elizabeth Snyder and husband Sean, John Caveny and wife Courtney, Aaron Caveny and wife Madison, Christopher Caveny, Anna Rose Caveny and Elise Caveny
Great Grandchildren: Peter and Addie Snyder and Jackson and Lainey Caveny
Special Nephew: Kenneth Caveny

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, June12, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel
VISITATION: Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney, SC
