Jack Aaron Hutchins

Jack Aaron Hutchins, 93, of Kings Mountain died, Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.

Born in Swain County, NC Mr. Hutchins was the son of the late Charles and Ida Johnson Hutchins and was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Lawrence Hutchins, Converse Hutchins, Clint Hutchins, Austrella Hutchins Cooper.

Mr. Hutchins was employed with Martin Marietta Materials before his retirement in 1999. He proudly worked for Bridges Hardware 10 years until his second retirement. He took great pleasure working with his fellow employees at Bridges Hardware and especially enjoyed working for Tim Miller.

Mr. Hutchins was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC where he taught Sunday School before declining health required him to step down. Mr. Hutchins was a committed Christian and served the Lord in several capacities throughout his life. He was a deacon, Intermediate Boys Sunday School Teacher, and Adult Men’s Teacher. He enjoyed his time teaching about his Lord and spent many hours reading and learning the Word.

Mr. Hutchins loved his wife, Georgia, of 65 years. They spent much of their time camping following retirement, they were devoted to one another and would have celebrated their 66th anniversary in December. Mr. Hutchins was particularly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and bragged on them to anyone that would listen and took great pleasure spending time with them all. Mr. Hutchins will be remembered for his honesty, frankness, integrity, and determination.

VISITATION: 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2017, Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Testa Hospice House in care of Hospice of Cleveland Co., 951 Wendover Dr., Shelby, NC 28150 in memory of Mr. Hutchins.
