James Francis Chaffee III

James Francis Chaffee III, 74, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on July 06, 2019 at his home. Jim, "Mike", was born in Newton, KS. He was the son of the late James F. Chaffee, Jr. and Lora Keady Chaffee. He was also preceded in death by his brother Dan Chaffee. He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved history and he was retired after more than 30 years of service in the trolling motor industry. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 53 years: Barbara Phillips Chaffee, Kings Mountain, NC
Son: Scott Chaffee, Columbus, Ohio
Daughter: Diana Price and husband Erik, Kings Mountain, NC
5 Grandchildren: Dany Harris, Kassie Carnes, Mikayla Price, Silas Price, Connor Chaffee.
5 Great-grandchildren: Bridget, Alex, Scout, Sawyer, Claire
Brothers: Gary Chaffee and Gayle Chaffee, Newton, Kansas


REQUEUM MASS: Friday, July 12, 2019 10:30 AM Christ the King Catholic Church, Kings Mountain, NC with Father Kottar officiating.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Friday, July 12, 2019 with Rev. Eric Sellers

VISITATION: One hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home
