Nelline (Putnam) Hovis

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA
NELLINE PUTNAM HOVIS         
Nelline Putnam Hovis, 81 of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on November 30, 2017 at Peak Resources,Cherryville, NC.  Born in Gaston County, NC, she was the   daughter of the late Joe Lane Putnam and Stella Finncannon Putnam.   She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Hovis and brothers Glenn Putnam, Lawrence Putnan, Herman Putnam, Ronnie Putnam and sisters Frances Baker, Margie Todd and Joyce Homsley.  Nelline was a long time member of Eastside Baptist Church where she was the pianist for many years.  She retired from the grocery industry in the meat market.  Nelline enjoyed gardening, lawn care,  crafts,  and cooking.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Son:  Steve Hovis and wife Rita, Kings Mountain, NC
Grandhchildren:  Marc Hovis, Shea Hovis, Logan Barrett, Zach Barrett, Maddie Grace Barrett and Selena Gonzalez.
Great-grandchildren:  Ryan Hovis and Mason Hovis

FUNERAL SERVICE:  Sunday, December 3, 2017,   3:00 PM      Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Kings Mountain, NC, officiated by Rev. Jeff Glenn and Rev. Ron Caulder
VISITATION:      2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home
INTERNMENT:  Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
