Ray Odell Bridges, 80, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. He was born in Graham County, NC, to the late Hoyle James Bridges and Helen Norris Bridges and was preceded in death by siblings, Charles, Jimmy, Frank, Billy and Mary Lou. Ray was a member of Crestview Baptist Church for the past 21 years. He was the owner and operator of Ray's Tire and Alignment in Kings Mountain for 27 years. Ray served his country honorably for 7 years as a mechanic in the US Army. He enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races with his loving wife, Evelyn. Ray was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He will be missed greatly by his loving family, his friends, and the community.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 44 years: Evelyn Wright Bridges, of the home
Sons: Jeffrey Bridges (Robin), Michael Bridges (Sonja), Bryan Chambers (Kathy), Mike Chambers (Stephanie), and Dale Chambers (Beth), all of Kings Mountain, NC
Siblings: Leonard, Larry, Jerry, Clifford, Nancy, Ruth and Catrina
Grandchildren: Chris, Ann, Hunter, Collin, Zach, Hannah, Grayson and Chad
7 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Crestview Baptist Church with Pastor Artie Hubbard officiating
VISITATION: Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Crestview Baptist Church
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Christian Academy at 420 Branch Street, Kings Mountain, NC 28086
