Sandra Lynn Messenger

Sandra Lynn Messenger, 76, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away on May 24, 2019, at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born in Warren, PA, to the late Robert Emett Lynn & Mildred Lucille Kifer Lynn. Sandy was a faithful Christian of the Baptist Faith. She retired from Kings Mountain High School with more than 15 years’ service as a teacher assistant, where she assisted students with Autism. Sandy loved caring for other people and spent time volunteering at a mental hospital and fostering children throughout her life. She cared deeply for animals and was well known for taking on stray animals.

Sandy loved her family and enjoyed hosting family gatherings and spending time with her loved ones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.

Survivors: Husband of 55 years, Don Messenger, of the home

Sons: David Messenger and wife Laura and Daniel Messenger and wife Carrie, all of Kings Mountain, NC.

Daughter: Jody Hamm and husband Jeff, Kings Mountain, NC

Brothers: Gary Lynn and wife Dawn, Frewsburg, NY; Doug Lynn and wife Nancy of Greenville, SC; Chuck Lynn & wife Terri, Jamestown, NY

Sisters: Diane Filegar, Ormand Beach, FL; Jeannie Clucas and husband Jack, Kings Mountain, NC

Grandsons: Keiffer Hamm, Dallas, NC; Kolton Hamm, Dillon Messenger and Dalton Messenger, all of Kings Mountain, NC

Granddaughter: Whitney Wiker and husband Mitch, Kings Mountain, NC

Great Grandchildren: Tyler & Hunter Wiker, Kings Mountain, NC

Numerous nieces and nephews
