Shirley Greene King, 83, 160 Bill King Road, died June 21 2019 at White Oak Manor  in Kings Mountain where she had been a resident off and on for the last 7 years. She was in declining  health.
She was born in Cleveland County to the late Walter David and Ethel Maude Parker Greene. A member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bill King, her son, Tommy Eugene King and daughter, Christy Kay King, both of Kings Mountain She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, W.D. Greene Jr. and 6 sisters, Betty Putnam Sherrer, Jean Harrill, Hazel Davis, Frances Phillips, Lib Williamson and Mary Helen Mills.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Debra King Shaw and husband, Robert of Kings Mountain and Sherrie King Camp and husband, Tony of Morganton. Grandchildren, Jennifer Camp Lemley and husband, Michael of Lawndale, Bill McKenzie of Union City, Tennessee, Bryony Camp Nicklson and husband, Napoleon of Cherryville and Megan Patterson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a loving wife, wonderful mother, a great grandmother and a homemaker. She was a fantastic cook who enjoyed making holidays and birthdays extra special for her family. Shirley had a good sense of humor and was always willing to help anyone.
There will be a private service at a later date.
Shirley's family would like to thank White Oaks for their loving support  and compassion of Shirley and her family, especially during the days leading up to her passing.
