William Eugene "Gene" Dye

WILLIAM EUGENE  DYE
William Eugene "Gene" Dye, 90 of Clover, SC, passed away on July 28, 2018 at White Oak Manor, York, SC. Born in Cleveland County, he was Son of the late Samuel Coleman Dye and Emma Mae Goforth Dye.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Joyce Dixon Dye and brothers Hobart and Phillip Dye.  Gene was a US Navy Veteran who was proud of his service on the USS Midway.  He worked as an electrician for over 50 years and owned and operated Dye Electric for more than 30 years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday School Teacher.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. 
SURVIVORS:  Wife of 11 years, Norma Atkinson Dye, Clover, SC
2 Sons:  Barney Dye and wife Debbie, Kings Mtn, NC
               Rex Dye and wife Tonya, Kings Mtn,NC
Grandchildren:  Lauren West and husband Michael; Hannah Durrence and husband Ryan;  Samuel Dye and wife Abigail; Madison Dye, Sarah Dye;  Aurian West, Haven West and Bennett West; Cohen Durrence
3 step children: Lee Atkinson and wife Terry; Todd Atkinson and wife Leslie; Julie Warner and husband Rick.
6 step grandchildren: Jeremy & Nathaniel Atkinson; Seth (wife Madison) & Caleb Warner; Gavin and Colby Shepherd.
FUNERAL SERVICE:  Tuesday, July 31, 2018 3:00 PM, First Baptist Church, with Dr. John Sloan and Rev. Gene Alexander officiating
VISITATION:  1:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service in the Stained Glass Room of FIrst Baptist Church, Kings Mountain.  At other time at the home of the son,  107 Dove Court, Kings Mountain, NC
INTERNMENT:  Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
