Charles Preston Herndon

CHARLES PRESTON HERNDON - Charles Preston Herndon, age 82, resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away July 18, 2014 at Caromont Health, Gastonia, NC. He was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late Walter Theodore Herndon and Minnie Randle Herndon. He was also preceded in death by brother, David Herndon and sisters, Flora H. Ledford; Mary Sue H. Etters; Dean H. Blackwood; and Betty H. Lynn. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. and retired from Hoechst Celanese Fiber Industries after 33 years of service. He was a Mason and former member of the Bethware Progressive Club.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 55 years: Pat Dover Herndon, Kings Mtn. NC Son: Brent Herndon and wife Kristie, Kings Mtn. NC Daughters: Kimberly Hawk and husband Thomas, Kings Mtn. NC Lori Herndon, Kings Mtn. NC Grandchildren: Kyle Herndon and Garrett Herndon Great Grandchild: Kyli Herndon.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Bethlehem Baptist Church, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 3:00 P.M. Dr. Steve Taylor and Rev. Wayne Brazzell, officiating

VISITATION: 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. Tuesday July 22, 2014 prior to the service in the Christian Activities Center of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
