Charles Simms Hill III, 72, of Bessemer City, NC, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2024 at his home. He was born in Gaston County, NC, He was Son of the late Charles Simms Hill Jr. and Sadie Splawn Hill and was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan N. Hill and his brother, Vernon Hill. Charles was a faithful member of North Gaston Church of God. He worked in the textile industry, retiring from Firestone after 36.5 years of service. Charles enjoyed playing pool and video games, especially Zombies vs Plants. He loved traveling with his family and made many trips throughout the years to his favorite place, Pigeon Forge, TN. Charles loved spending time with his family and cherished every moment he could be with his grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his canine companions, Paw Paw, Zelda, and Zeva. He was a dedicated provider and supportive family man to his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His guidance, commitment, and love will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.

Grandchildren: Jonathan Hill, Jason Hill, Andrew Hill, Justin Hill, Macey Hill, Emily Hill, Jacob Hill, Makenzie Lago, Nate Hill, Matthew Hill, Rio Hill, Jacob Lago, Chloe Hill, Alana Lago, Charley Lago, Leon Hill, Katelynn Bolin, and Payton Bolin

Great Grandchildren: Paisley, Jase, and Colton

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Andrew Nicholson officiating

VISITATION: Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Bessemer City Cemetery, Bessemer City, North Carolina
