Christine (Leary) Whitaker

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Christine Whitaker Christine Whitaker, 88, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on May 16, 2018 at Summit Place in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born in Martin County, NC, to the late William Gray Leary and Lucy Rogers Leary and was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Johnnie Whitaker. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Robert, Elmer, Mack, and Albert Leary. Christine was retired from the Cleveland County School System where she served as a cafeteria worker for 19 years. She attended Oak View Baptist Church for 39 years. Christine enjoyed doing needle work, crocheting and reading. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved gardening and sewing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
