Robert Ware

KINGS MOUNTAIN-Robert P. "Rob" Ware, age 91, resident of 121 Putnam Lake Road, died Dec. 14, 2010, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
He was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late Charles Page and Martha Lucretia Carroll Ware. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, C.D. Ware, Howard Ware, James Ware, Carl Ware; sisters, Nellie Thornburg, Mary Spearman, Lucille Randall. He was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church where he was a former trustee, deacon and Sunday school teacher, a Christian man that loved his church and never missed a Sunday. Mr. Ware loved gardening and the Atlanta Braves. He was retired from Lithium Corporation in Bessemer City and a WW II veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a loving husband and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, of 11 years, Edythe Self Ware, of Kings Mountain; step-sons, James Self and wife Lisa of Kings Mountain and Fred Gossett, Tampa, Fla.; honorary daughter; Carolyn Falls and her husband, Hal of Gastonia; grandchildren, Jamie Downey, Chase Shipman, Hollie and Heather Loflin; great-grandchildren, Sean and Alex Downey; God children, Gwen Hicks Branch, Edie Hicks Bunch Scott and Tyler Ware and nieces and nephews..
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Friday prior to the service In the Family Life Center of Patterson Grove Baptist Church
