SAMUEL DUDLEY
DIED FEB. 13, 2010
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Samuel G. Dudley, 88, of 148 Range Road, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in York County, S.C., he was the son of the late William Henry Dudley and Easter Elizabeth Sheppard Dudley. He was also preceded in death by a son Samuel Aaron Dudley, a grandchild, Samantha Dudley and several brothers and sisters. He was an active member of Christian Freedom Baptist Church, the owner of Dudley's Welding Kings Mountain, former volun-teer fireman with Oak Grove Fire Department and former member of the Moose Lodge, Shelby. He served in the US Navy during WW II, serving on the USS JRY Blakley. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vernice Wood Dudley, of Kings Mountain; daughter, DeLora Lovelace and husband Willard Lovelace, Jr., of Kings Mountain; three grandchildren, DeAnna Lovelace Morris, Tiffany Lovelace Mullis and Samuel Aaron Dudley, II; seven great-grandchildren, Andi Mullis, Cameron Morris, Matthew Morris, Christian Mullis, Austin Mullis, Kyle Morris and Evan Dudley and one great-great-grandchild, Mason Der.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
Funeral: Tuesday, noon at Christian Freedom Baptist Church
