Willard "Pete" Johnson, 77 of Kings Mountain, entered into his eternal home in the early morning of May 23, 2017. He was born in Cleveland County and the son of the late Winslow Crayton Johnson and Amanda Parker Johnson. He was preceded in death by sister Nadine Morrison and brothers Garland Johnson and Ed Johnson. Pete was employed for many years in the textile industry but was best known as owner/operator of Pete's Gulf Station for over 25 years.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 58 years and devoted caregiver, Shirley Wright Johnson, Kings Mountain, NC Son: Don Johnson and wife Zena Hawkins Johnson, Kings Mountain, NC; Daughter: Debra Johnson Lawson and husband Phillip Lawson, Kings Mountain, NC; Sisters: Shirlene Reynolds and Muriel Grant, Crouse, NC 4 Grandchildren: Nathan Johnson and wife Ashley; Steven Allen and Harrison Johnson; Chris Lawson and wife Amy 5 great grandchildren
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, May 27, 2017, 2:00 PM, Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Johnny Gantt and Rev. Don Williams
VISITATION: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, Prior to the service at the funeral home
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
