It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Blanton Dellinger, 84, of Kings Mountain, NC, who departed this life on July 9, 2025, at Peak Resources in Shelby, NC. Born on February 7, 1941, in Cleveland County, NC, she was the cherished daughter of the late James Ed and Paola Faye Rippy Blanton.

Barbara's life was a testament to faithfulness and dedication. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, where her beautiful voice graced the choir, and her willing spirit supported the church staff in countless ways. A proud graduate of Shelby High School, Barbara devoted 30 fulfilling years to her career with AT&T (Bellsouth), leaving behind a legacy of diligence and respect among her colleagues. Beyond her career, Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it be engaging with entertaining game shows on television, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, or challenging her mind with puzzles. One of Barbara’s greatest passions was her commitment to service. She generously shared her time by volunteering at Kings Mountain Hospital and had a profound love for animals, often supporting various animal charities to help those without a voice. Her kindness and compassion profoundly impacted everyone around her. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother, embodying kindness, generosity, and an ever-present love for her family. Barbara joined her husband, Bill Dellinger, her parents, her 11 siblings and numerous friends in her eternal home. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Dr. David Larry Dellinger of Charlotte, NC, and Bryan Dellinger and his wife Liza of Kings Mountain, NC. She also cherished her grandchildren, Mary Catherine Foster and her husband Collin, Virginia Eleanor Dellinger and her fiancé Bobby Kaufman, and Ward William Dellinger. They will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. In this time of sorrow, let us remember the warm smile and steadfast spirit of Barbara Blanton Dellinger and cherish the memories we hold dear.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Brad Jones officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
