Barbara Ann Upchurch Biddix, 77, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 6, 2024.   Born on December 9, 1946, Barbara was the oldest daughter of Marvin William Upchurch and Doris Jean Heath Upchurch. Barbara was married to her beloved late husband, Wilbert Lee Biddix, for 51 years. The couple was married on June 11, 1965 and shared a full and happy life together. Barbara worked at Goodwill Industries in Shelby for 18 years. She was a devoted member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School. Barbara warmly welcomed all into her home, guided many to Christ through her devoted ministry, and always prayed for those in need, embodying the spirit of love and faith in every action. Barbara was a friend to all those she came in contact with.  She will be greatly missed. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Marvin (Mutt) William Upchurch as well as her sisters Shirley Jean Upchurch Wright and Betty Ruth Upchurch Roark. She is survived by her mother Doris Jean Heath Upchurch of Kings Mountain, NC;  sister Virginia Dale Upchurch Wright (husband, Luther/Sonny) of Kings Mountain, NC, half sister Alessandra Bruscagli, Italy, daughter Karen Biddix Thomson (husband, Jay) of Sherrills Ford, NC; son Marvin Lee Biddix (fiance, Rhonda Hoce and her daughters, Maegan and Carly Hoce) of Kings Mountain, NC; grandkids Katie Diane Thomson and Jason Lee Thomson

Services will be held at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain on Saturday June 8, 2024. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am with the funeral immediately following in the chapel at 11:00 am officiated by  Reverend Dr. Steve Parker and Reverend Jim Brackett. Burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery. In Barbara’s memory, donations may be made to Elizabeth Baptist Church in  Shelby, or to the Life Enrichment Center in Kings Mountain.
