Barbara Cable Hawkins

Barbara Cable Hawkins, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 16, 2026 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born December 23, 1944 in Maryville, TN, daughter of the late James Ira and Willie Smith Cable and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Travis Ray Hawkins, a brother, Glenn Cable, and a sister, Phyllis Gunning. Barbara spent her entire working career in the healthcare profession as a Registered Nurse and X-Ray Technologist. She was a member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church. Barbara was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She loved nothing more than spending time with those she loved, especially her beloved grandchildren. Barbara lived a life of faith, commitment, and love. The memories left behind will be cherished each day by all those who loved her.

SURVIVORS: Children: Ann Smith and husband Marvin, Charles City, VA, and Chris Hawkins, Clover, SC

Granddaughters: Mackenzie Ciccone and husband Andrew, Harleyville, SC, and Montanna Henderson and husband Austin, Kings Mountain, NC

Great Grandchildren: Waylon and Stetson Henderson and Molly Ciccone

Sister: Betty Lewis, Gastonia, NC

Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Bill and Shirley Hawkins, Kings Mountain, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC with Reverend Dr. John Sloan and Pastor Eddie Gray officiating

VISITATION: Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at First Baptist Church in the Stained Glass Room

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

MEMORIALS: Donations made in memory of Barbara may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
