Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Logan Perry Stowe and Corinne Hambright Stowe. She was also was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Allen, Jr. and brother, Logan Perry Stowe, Jr. Betsy was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a housewife.
