- Betty Nell Jones, age 78, resident of Shelby, formally of Kings Mountain, passed away on December 4, 2016 at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC. Born in Bexar County Texas, she was the daughter of late Raymond and Evelyn Joy. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She attended Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain and loved to cook and fish. The family would like to express special appreciation to Hospice of Cleveland County and to Aunt Rose Faris for their support during Betty’s illness.
SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Chris Walker and wife Shelia Rigdon Walker, Kings Mountain, NC and John Walker, Kings Mountain, NC.
1 grandson: Mat Walker, Kings Mountain, NC
2 sisters: Emma Rose Faris and Mary Velma Flesher, both of Texas
