BETTY MERCIER

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Betty Bondurant Baker Mercier, 83, of 526 Cleveland Ave, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010.
She was born in Statesville, one of 10 children of the late Joel Marvin Bondurant, Sr. and Willie Presnell Bondurant. She was wife of 13 years to the late Charles Ray Baker, Sr. and wife of 50 years to the late Jack Raymond Mercier. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mitzi Jean Baker, a granddaughter, Anna Mercier Bowman, three brothers and five sisters.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kings Mountain where she served many years in the choir. She was a devoted wife and homemaker, mother and grandmother as well as a friend to many.

She is survived by sons, Wayne Mercier and wife, Tammy, of Kings Mountain, Steve Baker and wife, Joan, of Kings Mountain, Douglas Mercier and wife, Wendy, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Charlie Baker, Jr. and wife, Virginia, of Portland, Mark Mercier, and wife Jodie, of Asheville; daughters, Susan Canipe and husband, Richard, of Gastonia, Mimi Bowman, of Kings Mountain; 10 grandchil-dren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Bondurant, of Cherryville; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home
Funeral: Tuesday, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kings Mountain
