Betty Jo Mauney Smith

BETTY JO MAUNEY SMITH - Betty Jo Mauney Smith, age 85, resident of Kings Mountain, died February 4, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. She was born in Newton, NC, daughter of the late Loy Daniel and Mollie Frye Mauney. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, daughter Lorri Smith Henson, 2 sisters, Ruby Rozzell and Cirella Mauney and 3 brothers, Loy Daniel Mauney, Jr., Gus Mauney, and Jimmy Mauney. She was retired from Childers Heating and Air, Kings Mountain and a charter member of First Baptist Church in Kings Mountain to which she was very faithful.

SURVIVORS: Husband of 67 years: John Robert "Bob" Smith, Kings Mtn. Son: John Robert Smith, II, and wife Twyla, W. Jefferson, NC Sister-in-laws: Dot Mauney, Cary, Helen Mauney, Newton, Pat Mauney Morris, Clemmons, NC Grandchildren: Matthew Henson and wife Kayla, Kayla Smith and Julie Smith Great Grandchild: Kendall Henson.

FUNERAL SERVICE: First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain Friday, February 6, 2015 2:00 P.M. Dr. John Sloan, officiating

VISITATION: 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2015 prior to the service in the Stained Glass Room at First Baptist Church.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
