Betty Sue Raines Strickland, 88, of Grover, NC, passed away on September 21, 2026 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Sue was born July 20, 1938 in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late George Washington and Ruth Morris Raines and was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Thorpe Strickland, her daughter, Debra Jean Page Frederick, and her brothers, Bobby and Edward "Butch" Raines. Sue spent most of her adult life working in the home health field. She loved caring for others and her compassion and willingness to help others shone through in her everyday life. She lived a life of devotion and enduring faith in God and Sue held tightly to her hope of Heaven. After losing her beloved daughter, Debbie, she long for reunion with her, other loved ones, and especially her Savior, Christ Jesus. Sue enjoyed spending time watching Hallmark movies, visiting the beach, caring for her beautiful flowers, and sitting on her outdoor swing surrounded by all those she loved. She cherished her family and the memories made while spending as much time with them as she could. Her grandchildren brought Sue great joy. Sue built a special bond with her son-in-law, Martin, who was a tremendous part of her life for more than 50 years. Sue's willingness to help those in need, her compassion, and the love she shared with others throughout her life will be remembered by those who knew her and she will be dearly missed by all.

Great Grandchildren: Paxton and Rylan Davis and Minnie, Kika, Leilani, Kekoa, and Maile Kealoha

Sister: Martha Raines Myers (Bob), Kings Mountain, NC

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday, September 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Mountain Rest Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Steve Taylor officiating
