Bill Surber

BILL SURBER - Bill Surber, age 94, a resident of Kings Mountain, died June 3, 2015 at his home. He was born in Gaston Co., NC, son of the late William "Willie" and Myra Harbin Surber. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Renee Cochrane, 2 brothers, Carl Surber, Eugene Surber, 5 sisters, Clara Greenway, Jeanette Hienbach , Erlene Jenkins, Margaret Surber, Eldora Barnette. He was retired from Duff-Norton in Charlotte, NC. a member of Kings Mountain Baptist Church, the American Legion in Kings Mountain and the American Steel Workers Union. Mr. Surber served in the United States Coast Guard during WW II. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family, an avid Atlanta Braves fan, animals and gardening.
