DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA
Brenda Hullender Couch
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenda Hullender Couch, aged 82, who departed this life on September 19, 2025, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Born on July 9, 1943, in Cleveland County, Brenda was the cherished daughter of the late John and Bertha King Hullender. She is now united in eternal rest with her only brother and all eight of her beloved sisters. Brenda was a radiant spirit whose joyful presence touched the lives of many. An alumna of Central High School in Kings Mountain, she embraced her youth with passion, relishing in the art of dance and proudly serving as a member of the cheerleading squad. Her profound faith found expression at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, a community where she devoted herself to glorifying God with her lovely voice. A treasured member of the choir, Brenda delighted in sharing her gift through song, particularly with her favorite solo, “God on the Mountain.” Professionally, Brenda contributed her talents to Rauch Industries in Gastonia, where she crafted Christmas ornaments, and later, she dedicated her skills to Mauney Hosiery in Kings Mountain until her well-earned retirement. In her leisure, Brenda found joy in exploring flea markets and embarking on shopping escapades. During her earlier years, she savored delightful vacations in the mountains with her family, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. As time went on, she embraced the peace of home, finding immense joy in the company of her loved ones. Brenda was not only a devoted wife and mother but also an exceptional grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love for two generations of treasured grandchildren. Her kind heart and gentle spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her. As we celebrate Brenda Hullender Couch’s remarkable life, we find solace in the love she bestowed upon family and friends, a love that will endure beyond her earthly presence.
