Brenda Kay Johnson, 53, of Shelby, NC, entered into her eternal rest on June 21, 2023 at her home.  Brenda was born in Bumcombe County, NC, and was preceded in death by her adoptive parents Ralph and Vista Davis Shelton and her birth father, Richard Meadows. Brenda was a member of Northside Community Church in Dallas. She worked at Johnson and Associates Tax and Bookkeeping for more than 10 years and previously with Cleveland County DSS as an Adult Medicaid Case Worker. Brenda was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to her family. She always placed others needs before her own and had a desire to help anyone in need. She enjoyed taking trips to the coast and to the mountains with her family and friends. Brenda never met a stranger and to know Brenda, was to love her. Her bond with her family was unmatched and her love for her husband, children, grandchildren and siblings ran deep. Brenda's love, generosity, and compassion are lessons that will never be forgotten by all those her loved her.

Children: Jamie Chandler (Jessie), Johnson City, TN, Caleb Wilson, Shelby, NC, and Isaiah Johnson, Kings Mountain, NC

Grandchildren: Vista Mae Chandler, Xander Johnson, Kelsie Bowman,

and Haley Bowman

Birth Mother: Wanda Nichols, Kings Mountain, NC

Siblings: Neal Meadows (Peggy Thumma) and Loretta Milam, both of Kings Mountain, NC

Father and Mother In-law: John and Cathy Johnson, Shelby, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Johnson officiating

VISITATION: Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
