-Butch Phillips, age 56, resident of 1404 N. Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC died September 19, 2008 at Carolina?s Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Cleveland Co., NC. He was the son of the late W. E. Phillips and Faye Willis and step-father, Buddy Willis. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica DuBose Phillips.

He was a retired Truck Driver after 20 years of service, most recently with Yellow Freight. He was a member of the Baptist Faith, American Legion Post 243, AmVets, and the Moose Lodge # 1803, Gastonia, NC. He participated in many fundraisers and motorcycle runs for people who were in need. He loved life on his motorcycle and his Family. He served in the United States Army as Staff Sergeant, serving two tours of duty and serving in Vietnam.

Brothers: Gene Willis and wife April, Shelby, NC and their children: Thomas and Jarrett Willis, Shelby, NC, Danny Willis and wife Donna, Grover, NC and their children: Jennifer Letteer and husband Darrell and Amanda Lingerfeldt and husband Vergil.
