Charles D. Blanton, Jr

CHARLES D. BLANTON, JR. - Charles D. Blanton, Jr., age 84, resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away on May 13, 2016 at Carolina Healthcare System, Kings Mountain. He was born in Wadesboro, NC to the late Charles D. Blanton, Sr. and Helen Covington Blanton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia M. "Pat" Blanton. Mr. Blanton was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, a pharmacist and longtime owner of Kings Mountain Drug. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Kings Mountain Rotary and served in the U.S. Army. He always enjoyed gardening and reading.

SURVIVORS: Sons: Whitney Blanton and wife Cathy, Winter Park, FL David Blanton, Kings Mtn. NC Daughters: Liza B. Dellinger and husband Bryan, Kings Mtn. NC Becky B. Abel and husband Tom, Lakeland, FL Donna E. Blanton and husband John Van Gieson, Tallahassee, FL Step-Son: Tim Haynes and wife Lisa, Midlothian, VA 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: First Presbyterian Church, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 3:00 P.M. Rev. Greg Martin, officiating.

VISITATION: Immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
