Charles Wesley Burns, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on February 14, 2024 at his home. He was born in Cobb County, GA, son of the late J B Burns and Ethel Gilbreath Burns and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Kenneth, Thurman, and James Burns. Charlie served his country honorably in the US Army. He was a shareholder and supervisor at Ruppe Hosiery for more than 20 years. Charlie worked at Kings Mountain High School for 15 years as a custodian. He was an avid Kings Mountain football fan and a past coach at KMHS. Charlie was a natural born coach and loved passing along his knowledge and experiences to our youth. He coached Optimist football for more than 30 years and one of the greatest joys of his life was being able to mentor, groom and coach his grandson Darren, throughout his football career and life. Always active, Charlie enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, camping and spending time with his loved ones. Charlie loved being involved and serving as a role model to countless children during his lifetime. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His leadership, commitment, care, and understanding has benefited hundreds of lives and will be remembered by not only his family, but the entire community for a lifetime.

VISITATION: Monday, February 19, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home
