Charles Donald Greene, 78, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on May 17, 2025 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. Charles was born June 25, 1946 in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Grover Willis and Elsie Mae Burton Greene and was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Willis Greene and 2 sisters, Jeanette McGinnis and Maggie Cash. Charles served his country faithfully and heroically in the US Army, 1st Cavalry, in the Vietnam War. He was a proud veteran and was dedicated to the ideals of America. Charles was a faithful and active member of Second Baptist Church for many years. He retired from EATON Corporation after 28 years of dedicated service. Charles enjoyed sports and was an avid Dodgers, Redskins, and NC State fan. He was a talented golfer and enjoyed traveling to the coast and the North Carolina mountains. Charles enjoyed collecting baseball cards, old coins and stamps. He was an avid reader and loved watching a good sci-fi or action movie and reading a good Donald Duck comic. Most of all, Charles loved being with his family. Being near those he loved, especially his grandchildren made him the happiest. Charles was a devoted and loving husband, showing his affection and love until the very end. He was also a loving father and grandfather whose life lessons, guidance, and commitment will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for a lifetime.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 53 years: Sarah Pressley Greene Children: Charles "Chuck" Donald Greene II and wife Brandy, and Crystal Haney and husband Josh Grandchildren: Erika and Erin Greene and Noah and Peyton Haney Sister: Charlotte Martin and husband Dean Numerous nieces and nephews

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC

VISITATION: Monday, May 19, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
