Clyde E. Dixon

Clyde E. Dixon, 92, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 19, 2026 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation in Cherryville. Born July 19, 1933 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late William Hoyle Dixon and Mattie Martha Jane Arrowood Dixon. Clyde was also preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Peggy Hartman Dixon, his brothers Ernest and Grady Dixon, and his sister Leola Dixon Bell.

Clyde worked as a brick mason and masonry subcontractor for over 70 years. This work put him in touch and in business with many members of the Cleveland County community. He was an avid outdoorsman who honed his skills hunting and fishing on countless expeditions across many years. Clyde was a dedicated Christian and a longtime member of First Wesleyan Church in Kings Mountain. He was an excellent role model, demonstrating to his sons the value of hard work and determination. He was a great brother, a loving father, and a wonderful husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

SURVIVORS: Sons: Wayne Dixon (Regina), Darryl Dixon (Carol), and W. Eric Dixon, all of Kings Mountain

Grandchildren: Joy Dixon, Derek Dixon (Meagan), Jonathan Dixon, Wesley Dixon (Stephanie), Adam Dixon (Tania)

Great-Grandchildren: Austyn, Colt, Anniston, Teo, Nox, Lane, Kaitlyn, and Grayson

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Second Baptist Church of Kings Mountain with Revs. Dennis Pruitt and Zach Bardsley officiating

VISITATION: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. at Second Baptist Church of Kings Mountain

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
