DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Cynthia Summerrow Anderson

Cynthia Summerrow Anderson, 90, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away on February 29, 2024 at Summit Place in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late Thomas Edward Summerrow Jr. and Dorothy Edwards Summerrow and was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Summerrow Warlick and a brother, Thomas Edward Summerrow III. Cynthia was a graduate of Duke University where she earned her Masters Degree in Biology, she served as a 10th grade science instructor in Baltimore until her retirement. Cynthia was an accomplished artist, spending summers studying art in New Mexico. Her love of the Southwestern Native culture led to adventures rafting the Colorado River twice, spending nights camping under the stars. Cynthia was active in the Maryland Chapter of the DAR, serving a term as Regent. She was active in the BYKOTA Senior Center in Towson, MD, where she made lifelong friends.  Keeping her mind active, Cynthia was a voracious reader, developed a love for NASCAR and 1980's country music.  After her retirement, Cynthia moved to Kings Mountain to be near her son, Cliff and daughter-in-law, Marty, whom she loved with all her being. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and dear friends, for a lifetime.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date and announced by the family.
