Donald Barrett

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Donald Reese Barrett, 66, of 119 Dunes Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Cleveland County to the late Charles Van Buren and Biddie Elizabeth Gladden Barrett. He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Charlotte. He served in the United States Navy and was in the movie, PT 109.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Crawford Barrett; sisters, Sue Henderson and Golden Waters; and brother, Claude Barrett.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Allen Barrett of Kings Mountain; son, David R. Barrett of Kings Mountain; daughters, Leigh Ann Barrett of Norwood and Donna B. Singletary of Wilmington; brothers, Steve Barrett of Kings Mountain and Ray Barrett of Rock Hill, S.C.; sister, Rita Lawing of Kings Mountain; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 28, 7 to 9 p.m., at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain.
