Donald Wayne Russell

DONALD WAYNE RUSSELL - Donald Wayne Russell, age 78, resident of Lenoir, formally of Kings Mountain, passed away January 8, 2017 at UNC Health Care System, Lenoir. Born in Lancaster County, SC, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edd Lee Russell and Ollie Mae Threatt and wife Patricia Davis Russell and several brothers and sisters. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was also was a Navy veteran and member of the US National Guard.

SURVIVORS: Son: Mark Russell and wife Cathy, Lenoir, NC Step daughter: Karla Russell Bennett and husband Mike, Kings Mountain, NC 4 Grandchildren: Christopher Bennett, Tyler Russell, Katie Burgess, and Brittany Russell Buck. 3 Great-Grandchildren: Charley and Bennett Burgess and Harper Buck Sisters: Altie (Skeet) Craig, Monroe, NC and Alfie Aycoth, Pageland, SC.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Thursday, January 12, 2017, 11:00 AM, First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, North Carolina Dr. John Sloan, officiating.

VISITATION: Family will speak to friends after the graveside service in the cemetery.

INTERMENT: Full Military Honors provided by the Marine Corp League, Foothills Detachment: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
