DONALD "DON" WHITTINGTON - Donald "Don" Whittington, age 64, a resident of 124 Kim Dr. Grover, NC, went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 2, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Born in Cleveland county, NC, son of the late William and Essie McAbee Whittington and was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Payton Auton and a sister, Paula Crosby. He was an active member of Westover Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member and as a faithful member of the church he did the janitorial service for the church. A positive influence and exceptional role model he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and father-in-law who will be dearly missed in the lives of his family and friends. He retired from Anvil Knit Ware after 25 years and was a former employee of the City of Kings Mountain

Daughter: Nicole McCain and husband, Donnie, Cherryville, NC

VISITATION: 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday night, September 6, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home.
