Doris Brown Street

DORIS BROWN STREET - Doris Brown Street, age 94, resident of Kings Mountain, NC, former resident of Louisiana passed away peacefully November 28, 2015 at Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley, NC. She was born in Bossier Parish, LA on November 28, 1921 to the late Walter Willie Brown and Carrie Hughes Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam Street and brother, James W. Brown. Mrs. Street was a lifelong resident of Louisiana, in recent years moved to Kings Mountain, NC so that her granddaughter, Deanna Poplin and husband Paul could look after her. She was a faithful Christian and lifelong and active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Alexandria, LA where she previously served as President of the Sunday School and member of the WMU Society. She loved to play the piano and sing hymns and lived her life by her favorite quote "Life is a Song" She was a Certified Nursing Assistant, working in home health.

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Barbara Street Osbourne, Anacoco, LA Marlene Street Waterstraat and husband Darryl, West Monroe, NY Sister: Verda Brown Glover, New Orleans, LA 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Mountain Rest Cemetery Monday, November 30, 2015 11:00 A.M.

VISITATION: Family will speak to friends immediately following the service in the cemetery.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery Kings Mountain, North Carolina
