Dorothea Dottie Denton

Dorothea”Dottie” Denton, 91, of Kings Mountain passed away March 13, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospital. Born in Tulsa, OK. She was the daughter of the late Oda Daniel Carpenter and Ruth Ellen Shive Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Vance Gist Denton and a sister, Carol Borgnaes. She was a 1946 graduate of Florida State University and was the retired office manager of her parent’s insurance agency. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the Community Kitchen, a member of Circle I and the Sons and Daughters of Wesley Sunday School Class. She loved knitting, reading and traveling and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Brother: Milton Carpenter and wife Nancy, Belle Glades, Florida

Brian Burris and wife Leigh Anna
Jason Burris.
8 Great-grandchildren: Kyle, Evan, Mason, Chris, Vance, Allison
Camdyn and Pierce.
1 Great-great grandchild: Jett

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, March 16, 2015, Central United Methodist 2:00 P.M.
Rev. Rex Gibbs officiating.

VISITATION: Immediately Following the service in the CAC of the church

INTERMENT: Port Mayaca Memorial Gardens, Pahokee, Florida
