Douglas Thurman Rathbone

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Douglas Rathbone Douglas Rathbone, 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, went to be with the Lord on March 09, 2022 at his home. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Dewey and Dona Dorsey Rathbone and was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Loretta Taylor Rathbone. Doug was also preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Lynn Ramey, and his brothers, Steve, Bobby, and Paul Rathbone and two sisters, Geraldine Hollifield and Juanita Sims. He was a longtime member of First Wesleyan Church and retired from PPG as a foreman after many years of service. Doug served the United States honorably in the US Air Force. He loved sports and was an avid golfer. Doug enjoyed taking family vacations to his home at the coast and loved spending time in the mountains. His kindness, friendship and love will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
