DOVIE ALBERTA STRICKLAND - Dovie Alberta Strickland, age 84, resident of Kings Mountain, died May 29, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Wade and Bessie Jackson Putnam. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Burley Edward Strickland, brother, Wade Putnam, Jr., sisters, Polly Gamble, Helen Huff, Janice Keeter, Ruby Bridges. She was retired from the textile industry and after retirement she was employed by Rauch Industries in Gastonia. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Strickland Sisters; Ada Burton, Kings Mountain Bonnie Jeanine Blanchette, Gastonia Grandchildren; Michael John Strickland Sherry S. Shipton Great-Grandchildren; Blair Walker, Morgan Shipton, Michael John Wilson, Mindy Beard, Willie Strickland Great-Great-Grandchildren, Cheyanne Walker and Troy Wilson
