DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Dr. Donald "Bruce" Davis

Dr. Donald "Bruce" Davis, 78, of Kings Mountain, NC, went to his heavenly home on January 16, 2025 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. Born October 26, 1946 in Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of the late Fred Davis and Sallie Carter Davis and was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Nadine Barnette Davis. Bruce was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Plato and Docie Parker Davis and Joseph and Minnie Richards Carter, and two sisters, Becky Randolph and Judy Varner. Bruce was saved by the grace of God on May 10, 1978, and seven years later on October 31, 1985, he was called to ministry. He loved praising and worshiping the Lord, serving as minister at Tabernacle Baptist Church of Cherryville, NC and at Cross Country Campground Church of Denver, NC. Bruce loved God, and it was reflected in how he treated others. He was a wonderful, doting father and grandfather, but his kindness extended beyond his family. Bruce loved to witness to others and he never met a stranger. He went above and beyond for those he loved. Bruce was a shining example of a true man of God.

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" - Romans 10:14

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Melissa Davis Venable and husband, Scott, of Lincolnton, NC, and Dawn Davis Ross and husband, Jack, of Shelby, NC. Brothers: Frank "Shorty" Davis and wife, Sondra, of Kings Mountain, NC, and Randy Davis of Kings Mountain Grandchildren: Levi Ross, Sara Brooks, Kristen Bean and husband, Nathan, Jessica Ridings, and Erica Duffie and husband Cody Great-grandchildren: Isaac and Emerald Bean Bruce is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored and by extended family Rick and Donna Smart of Kings Mountain, NC.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastors Dennis Gomez and Luke Parker officiating.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Mountain Rest Cemetery.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
