MAXINE HORD BENNETT
Maxine Hord Bennett, 87 of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 28, 2017 at Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain, NC. Born in Cleveland County NC, she was the daughter of the late Jacob George Hord, Sr. and Edna Ware Hord. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dorus L. Bennett and brothers William Miles Hord and Jacob George Hord, Jr. Maxine was a Charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain and a long time member of the Magnolia Garden Club. She was retired from the Cleveland County School System as a Teacher's Assistant. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Daughters: Mary Anne Gibson and husband Gene Gibson, Kings Mountain, NC
and Carol Talley and husband Brent Talley, Hickory, NC;
Brother: Ronnie Hord, and wife Patty, Altoona, PA.
Grandchildren: Christopher Bennett; Katie Burgess and husband Jason; Alan Gibson and wife Lauren; Drew Gibson and fiance Dakota Sparks; Lauren Talley
Great-grandchildren: Charley and Bennett Burgess
