Eugene Johnson

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Eugene Johnson Eugene Johnson, 79, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away unexpectedly on July 07, 2020 at his home. He was born in Gaston County, NC, son of the late Howard and Maudie Reece Johnson and was preceded in death by his sister, Lutrell Hancock. Eugene possessed a strong Christian faith, was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and attended Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia. He worked as a lineman for Floyd S. Pike and later retired from Foote Mineral where he worked in electrical maintenance. Eugene was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He had a generous nature and often gave away crafts that he had built while working in his shop. Always busy, Eugene loved working in the yard, around his home and in his shop building flag poles. He was an avid animal lover and missed his late canine companion "Duke" dearly. Eugene was a humble man, a wonderful husband and father and a loving grandfather. He will be missed immensely by his family and many friends.
