Born in Cleveland County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Oscar Ayers and Etta Doris Gantt. She was also preceded was in death by her husband of 50 years, Carl Roy Dowda, two brothers, John Clarence Ayers and Charles Neely Ayers and 2 sons, Roy Leonard Dowda and Terry Carl Dowda. Eula Jane was a member of First Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. She loved to cross-stitch and crochet. She also enjoyed canning, cooking and fishing. She had given away over one hundred cross stitch tapestries as gifts. She loved her family especially her grand-children and sisters. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor, but most of all she was a great mother. SURVIVORS: Sons: Gary Joseph Dowda and wife Ramona, Gastonia, NC; Bobby James Dowda, Kings Mountain, NC; Charlie Edward Dowda and wife Penny, Kings Mountain, NC; Daughters: Marie Elaine Fulton, and husband Bobby, Blacksburg, SC; Margaret Nancy McMunn and husband Don, Charlotte, NC; Joyce Ann Carpenter and husband Greg, Kings Mountain, NC; Siblings: Margaret Lemons, and husband Carl Ray, Shelby, NC; Shirley Caveny and husband Pete, Kings Mountain, NC; Martha Bird and husband Harry , Stokesdale, NC; Lee Crocker, Mrytle Beach, SC; Bryan Ayers and wife Melanie, Shelby, NC. 17 Grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, April 24, 12:00 Noon at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Kings Mountain, NC with Pastor Mark Zirkle officiating.
