Evelyn Beulah (Wright) Bridges

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Evelyn Wright Bridges Evelyn Wright Bridges, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on March 13, 2022 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Horace and Bessie Foster Wright and was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ray Odell Bridges. Evelyn was also preceded in death by two sons, Bryan Chambers and Michael Bridges and a brother, Herman Wright. A talented musician, Evelyn began playing the piano, by ear, at an early age and continued playing her entire life for churches in the Kings Mountain area. She attended Gaston College as well as Gardner Webb University where she studied music. Mrs. Bridges taught piano to many people and played countless engagements throughout her lifetime. Evelyn worked for more than 20 years at Second Baptist Church as the Director of music and youth, and then at Crestview Baptist for many years as the worship leader. In all things, Evelyn was faithful. She was generous with her time and talents and faithful to serve as Christ led her. Evelyn was faithful to her Savior, her family, friends, work, and her community. The loss of her love, generosity, guidance, and spirit will be felt deeply by her family, friends, church, and the entire community.
