George Richard Parsley

George Richard Parsley, 77, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 04, 2024 at Carolina Care Health and Rehab in Cherryville, NC.  He was born in Buncombe County, NC, son of the late Alex and Thelma Anglin Parsley and was preceded in death by his sister, Marylin Worley. Richard served as a Driver and Engineer with the City of Charlotte Fire Department from 1970 until his retirement in 1996. He also served the Oak Grove community as a firefighter with Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Richard has a heart and soul dedicated to serving others. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His love for others and the countless sacrifices he made throughout the decades will be remembered for a lifetime by all who knew Richard.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 54 years: Carolyn Moore Parsley

Sons: Thomas Richard Parsley and wife Kim, and John Parsley and wife Angie

Grandson: Christian Parsley

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Patterson Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Bridges officiating

VISITATION: Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service at the church

INTERMENT: Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
