Harry Lewis Beam

HARRY LEWIS BEAM
- Harry Lewis Beam, age 82 resident of Grover, NC went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home. He was born Cleveland Co. NC, youngest of five children of Lela Westmoreland Beam and Henry Lee Beam. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Bob and Tom, and sisters Betty Richardson and Polly Ledford and daughter-in-law Terri Beam. A graduate of Grover High School, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning to civilian life he worked in textiles, retiring as Department Manager of Dyeing after 38 years and worked 10 years part time at Keeter Furniture in Grover. He became interested in the history of his family which led him to the writing of three books. He was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, Grover where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, Sunday School Director, Chairman of two Pulpit committees, and Chairman of the Properties committee when the stained glass windows were installed and the Church sanctuary was renovated. He served with faithfulness in every capacity to which he was called.
He was a member of the Masonic Order for 60 years and was Past Master.

Sons: Tony and his wife Lyn, Belews Creek, NC
Herbie and his wife Lisa, Cheraw, SC
5 Grandchildren: Jordan and wife Ashley, Jason, Jaret and wife Lauren Beam, Kristy Watkins and husband Kevin. Katie and husband J.P. Toste.
3 Great Grandchildren: John and Terri Toste and Ryan Watkins
Sister-in-law: Lorene Foster.

FUNERAL SERVICE: First Baptist Church, Grover, NC Thursday, May 12, 2016
3:00 P.M. Rev. Bobby Gant, Rev. John Barnhardt, Rev. Jack Buchanan, and Dr. Tony Fulbright, officiating.

VISITATION: 1:30 – 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2016 prior to the service in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Grover, North Carolina

INTERMENT with Military Honors provided by the Marine Corp League Foothills Detachment: Grover Cemetery, Grover, North Carolina
