Hayward Dean Bullock

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Hayward Dean Bullock Hayward Dean Bullock, 82, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 29, 2023 at Atrium Health Pineville in Pineville, NC. Dean was born in Cherokee County, SC, son of the late Lester Hayward and Victoria Carroll Bullock and was preceded in death by his brother, David Bullock and a sister Thelma Burton. Dean attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. He served honorably in the North Carolina National Guard for 8 years. He retired from PPG after 37 years of service in the maintenance department. Dean was a wonderful role model to not only his children, but the neighborhood children as well. He could often be found with a pickup truck full of children headed to watch a local ball game. Dean enjoyed playing cards with his friends and volunteering at the Patrick Senior Center. He coached softball for many years. He was a wonderful and supportive Papaw who seldom missed a ball game or recital played or given by one of his grandchildren. Dean loved to travel and enjoyed taking bus tours with his wife, Sue. He was a wonderful husband and the best father anyone could ever have. His guidance, loyalty and love will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
