Helen Mathis Brackett

Helen Mathis Brackett, 85, passed away on March 26, 2026 at home in Shelby, NC. Born March 10, 1941 in Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Mathis and Annie Hall Mathis and was also preceded in death by her husband Albert Lee Brackett and numerous brothers and sisters. Helen was a waitress at The Pier restaurant for many years. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother.

Helen is survived by her son Chuck Brackett and fiancée Jennifer of Lincolnton, NC, brother Jimmy Mathis, three granddaughters, one grandson, six great-granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain Rest Cemetery

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
